Riverbend is a gated community in the heavily forested foothills to the east of Lake Lure. It has two private lakes for fishing, boating, picnicking and swimming. A stretch of the Rocky Broad River flows through the area for tubing and swimming.

The Town of Lake Lure and the surrounding area provide resources for Riverbend. There are churches of several denominations adjacent to the development.
Housing
Riverbend offers a wide variety of existing single-family homes, most of them some distance from their neighbors on heavily wooded lots. Roads are unpaved gravel. There is a Property Owners Association, and membership is mandatory. This community is wonderful for clients searching for log homes and other vacation style properties.
